Val Cox Copper Blue

lcopperblue0pcopperblue_1_grande

This frit is sold by Val Cox. โ€œA classic aqua blue color thatโ€™s completely fuss-free. When this is worked normally, you will have a pure blue tone. When itโ€™s combined with silver foil, some copper rimming can appear, hence the name.โ€

Frit Tutorial Part 1

All about frit! This tutorial will be in 3 parts… part 1 is now available for your viewing pleasure. It’s basically an introduction to what frit is, and a bit of discussion about base colours, with a demonstration of making a paddle to test colour combos out.

Discs Part 4 and Tutorial

Posted on

Did you know I was going somewhere with all these discs? I’ve finished a new video tutorial today on how I make my disc beads! I actually managed to get this one in HD so make sure you turn up the quality settings on YouTube.

And here are some more disc designs… the “Frit Discs” as I like to call them.

How I label my rods

Posted on

I made a quick photo tutorial about my system of rod-labeling. It’s over at LampworkBeading.Com. There are some templates for download as well to make your own labels. I thought this would be helpful for some of you lampwork folks out there ๐Ÿ™‚

Incidentally, LampworkBeading.Com is one of the partner websites of Shared Keyword Domains. I joined this site recently to try to help get some cross promotion. The general idea is, you contribute content such as articles, and in return, you get exposure for your business. Kind of a cool idea. This site is still in its infant stages right now so there is not a lot going on over there, but hopefully it will grow. There are many partner sites other than lampwork too – for other types of beading and I think they are expanding to other topics. It doesn’t cost anything to sign up and the person running it is very friendly and helpful. So, if you are an artist or craftsperson who is trying to promote your business online, you might want to check this out!

Video Fun

Posted on

Found this Youtube video my mom made awhile back… we are planning on making some tutorial videos together in the near future. Is there anything you would particularly like to see? I was thinking of doing a video goddess tutorial definitely, as well as some basic techniques, but I would love input if anyone out there has any requests!
