I made a bunch of barrel shaped focals last night and matching spacer beads, with the intention of turning them into necklaces on the silk.

Ivory base with CiM Canyon de Chelly, and some silvered ivory stringer. The spacers are ivory with Canyon de Chelly. It’s a cool glass in that it strikes kind of “unevenly”, you end up with many different colours. It looks really pretty on ivory.

Same colours as above, this time I added some swirlies on the barrel bead.

White base, with (from bottom to top) copper green, grasshopper green, and blue green. Spacers are blue green. There is CiM Leaky Pen frit on the barrel bead.

Clear base with (from bottom to top) CiM leaky pen, blue green, CiM leaky pen. The spacers are clear with CiM leaky pen over top. The leaky pen is a really dark, very saturated transparent glass, I had heard it works well over top of something else but is too dark on its own.

From left to right, the focal is CiM thai orchid, light transparent purple, CiM simply berry, and dark ivory. There is some silvered ivory stringer on the dark ivory. The spacers are CiM simply berry. I was worried that the simply berry would be too dark on its own, but it’s actually really pretty. It looks good layered over ivory as well.

From left to right, the focal is light transparent purple with a bit of CiM thai orchid over top, then dark ivory with CiM simply berry and CiM thai orchid over top. There is some random silvered ivory stringer all over this bead. The spacer beads are CiM thai orchid.

This focal has a white base, with (from left to right) blue green, grasshopper green, and copper green with CiM leaky pen frit overtop (slightly reduced). The spacers are coper green, again with very slight reduction (which seemed to make it a bit more metallic). Apparantly copper green and leaky pen both reduce to give some reddish tones, so I’m not sure which one of them is giving the reddish tones on the swirly part.

From bottom to top, light transparent purple, CiM thai orchid, dark ivory, CiM thai orchid, and CiM simply berry. I think there is some silvered ivory stringer in this one, too. The spacers are dark ivory with simply berry over top.
