I used to make vessels quite often and for some reason I stopped. I don’t really know why! I even wrote a tutorial on making vessels some years back. Anyhoo recently I sort of remembered that vessels existed and started making them again. I have changed the design up a bit so now they can sit flat on their own – but they can still be worn around your neck too, just loop some cord through one of their little “arms.”
This second one has aventurine in it – a glass which has something suspended in it to make it sparkly, I think it is copper. I bought some of this stuff just the other day and it is so pretty but oh man, it is hard to work with. I don’t know if I would buy it again because it is so shocky and you have to be really patient to melt it. But it does come out so pretty – my photos don’t even do justice to the sparkle factor in that piece. So, you may or may not be seeing more of it! I am not a very patient person in general and I like glass that I can stick right into the hot part of the flame right away, not having to preheat in the kiln or go really slowly.
